STEP 1, OPTICAL ENERGY The powerful lightpulse of either laser or IPL hits the pigmentation in the hairshaft. In the hairshaft itself it is possible to reach temperatures of 200-300 degrees celsius. Though the heat declines very fast in the rest of the tissue. We need to achieve atleast 72 degrees celsius in the hairfollicle in order to reach permanent results when removing hair. Protein and stem cells in the follicle need to be destroyed. Sometimes powerful light is not enough in order to achieve permanent hair removal. The light needs to hit pigmentation and if there is no pigmentation then enough heat will not be reached and the effect is default. All common IPL and Laser systems lean on only the optical energy.

STEP 2, Bi-Polar Radiofrequency (RF) After only a fraction of a second RF is engaged and it is attracted by the warm tissue. RF is pulled to heated tissue and because the hairshaft itself is always the warmest, RF is going to be pulled to it. If you look at a hairshaft under a microscope you will notice it has a fishscale-like structure. These scales serve as a perfect isolation which means RF cannot enter the hairshaft. Instead RF begins to spin around the hairshaft and warming up the whole folliclestructure. This is called Vortex Heating. In other words we heat up the target from both the inside and the outside. In this way we are less dependant on pigmentation in the hairshafts and can achieve permanent hair removal.
