To simplify acne can be divided into two different kinds of acne, teenagepimples and adult-acne. Teenagepimples develop in the teens because the body produces more of the sex hormone called testosterone. These hormones easily become unbalanced which stimulates tallowproduction in the hair follicles and leads to an overproduction of tallow. This overproduction crowds the outlet of the follicles, the tallow then begins amass and leads to rancid follicles and bacteria, namely the propionius acnes germ. These bacteria convert the good fat, that lubricates and protects the skin, to a more agressive fat acid. This agressive fat acid begins to irritate and damage the skin, the skin then tries to fight it which leads to inflammation, the skins defense against bacteria. This is when the follicle becomes a "pimple". In some cases an open blackhead that lets the tallow leak emerges instead. In other cases the follicle can burst inwards and result in an acneboil.
Teenage-acne
Almost all teenagers have acneproblems. A contributing factor can for e.g be hereditary factors, pore size, unevenness in the pores keratin skin layer and various hormoneproductions. Teenage-acne usually clears by the age of 20-25.
Adult-acne
Reasons to having acne as an adult are usually other and hard to estimate. Adult-acne can for e.g emerge due to stress, sunlight, seasons, climate, personal problems, "squeeze and pinch", chemicals and oils, diet, narcotics, menstruation, pregnancy, birthcontrol or cosmetics. However there is no proven connection between acne and food, except for some cases where reactions to cheese, chocolate and very spicy food. Some medications and hormonedisorders can also contribute to acne. All of these factors can cause adult-acne by themselves or by a combination of them.
Treatment against acne and pimples
Acne cannot be cured, but it can be controlled, with Acnespecialistens Care Plus products. The bacteria that cause acne exist in the follicles and cannot be washed away. Never try to pinch blackheads or pimples, it leads to inflammations that can give nasty scars and what's more the skin takes longer to heal. It can also leave stain-like marks after an inflammation in the skin, which leads to tissuedamage, the marks can be red, brown or purple, depending on skintype. It fades in time, but it can take a couple of months or up to a year, and sometimes longer.
