The new ELOS IPL system, with patented technology!

Synerons ELOS IPL technology differs from the older IPL and Laser technology. For the first time two energies are cooperating to achieve better results, but most of all to achieve a higher safety for you. Laser or IPL in combination with Bi-Polar Radiofrequency (RF). The benefits are many, and we are going to briefly describe them.

 

Why RF? Because the light has its limits RF is added in order to achieve a better heatingprofile and a safer system. The light always has to hit a target in order to work. When removing hair the target is dark pigment in the hairshaft and when removing blood vessels it's the red coloring matter of the blood. If pigmentation is missing or it is reduced, which it often is with scandinavian men and women, the light does not have a target and no heat is radiated. In order to achieve permanent results the temperature in the hairfollicle needs to reach 72 degrees celsius. It often does reach this temperature when there is much pigmentation in the hair, but when there is too little pigmentation lower temperatures such as 65 degrees celsius are reached and it results in a Photo Waxing. This is where RF comes into the picture.

RF is pulled to heated tissue and because the hairshaft itself is always the warmest, RF is going to be pulled to it. If you look at a hairshaft under a microscope you will notice it has a fishscale-like structure. These scales serve as a perfect isolation which means RF cannot enter the hairshaft. Instead RF begins to spin around the hairshaft and warming up the whole folliclestructure. This means that the temperature is raised another 10-15 degrees so that the desired temperature of 72 degrees celsius is reached. Thanks to RF a permanent effect is achieved which would not be possible using only light regardless if it is Laser or IPL.

 

During the last years optical energy (the light) has become so powerful that it can easily damage the skin seriously if it lands in the wrong hands. When Syneron developed ELOS added security was the primary goal.

 

ELOS is also extremely powerful and therefore also has a built in unique securitysystem, Active Dermal Monitoring. This means that with the help of RF we measure the temperature before and during every pulse in depth of the skin. Should the temperature rise too much the machine will terminate the pulse immediately to reduce the risk of side-effects. Furthermore the user gets constant information on the display of the machine so that he/she has the correct power.

 

The pain that is often associated with the older technology is almost completely gone with ELOS. This thanks to that the contactprism (safir) has been cooled down to 5 degrees celsius. This means that the shallow nerve fibres are anesthetized before the pulse comes.

 

All skintypes can be treated with ELOS. Though the darkest skintypes demand that the wielder is experience since the risk for side-effects are higher the darker your skin is. Before every treatment testpulses are performed to see if your skin can handle ELOS.
